ZOOM or facetime sessions

Due to the recent corona virus outbreak we will be offering sessions online. This is an excellent way to stay strong and healthy while you are trying maintain social distancing from the public.

training sessions online

After assessing your goals and desired training method, you will be invited via ZOOM or facetime to join the instructor in a one hour session. The price is $50/per one hour session. The price can be negotiated if there are more than one person(s) joining the session. So, if you want your mom or best friend to join, we can dial her up too. 

Depending on your goals, we can tailor a workout/program just for you. If you have home equipment..great! If not, no problem. We can do all body weight exercises that require no equipment at all. Also, if you have a pilates reformer at home, we can accommodate that.

We have been performing online sessions for some time and have the kinks ironed out. So give us a try!

We do train men as well but our regular outdoor classes are just for the ladies. Sorry guys.

who's your instructor?

Karin Schmidt is a Certified Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor. She has been training for over 20 years. She came to Portland from San Francisco in 2007. In San Francisco, she was the Fitness Director of one of the largest clubs in the city. After years of experience, she started Urban Recess and her independent personal training business. Karin has seen it all and tried it all as far as fitness methods are concerned. She has found a method that is safe, efficient and best helps women maintain desirable weight and feminine muscle tone.


Karin loves what she does and genuinely wants to help people. So, she keeps her prices affordable. She does this so that she can work with all kinds of people and to enable them to workout more often. She can come to your home, office, an outside location, or her Pilates studio. Are you wanting to get started, but your body isn't quite ready to follow your mind?  Sometimes the best approach is to talk about the road blocks you are experiencing and get your diet organized. 

While we are not registered dieticians, we do have over 20 years of studying nutrition which we can help pass on to our clients. Many times it only takes a few adjustments to see a big change in how you look and feel. 

We guide you on how to read labels and how to look at food differently. Food should not be about stress and shame, it should be about enjoyment and nourishment. 

Also, we help you know what to look for at the grocery store so that you can eat the healthiest possible for you budget. 

Recipes can be provided and a plan that works for you!
